Home    Making Kaleidoscopes in Creston!

21March 2018 – Happy Spring, the season of transformations.  And the daylight sun lasts longer and longer as we approach Summer. Yeah!

Creston had a fun event hosted by Marshall recently, one of our many talented residents.  He is a consummate kaleidoscope maker (among many other talents) with one of his intricate kaleidoscopes on display in a Japanese museum!

Marshall invited all interested residents up to our mountain top Community Center to a “Make your Own Kaleidoscope” afternoon for two separate dates due to our enthusiasm.  There were over 20 people in attendance when my husband and I were there.  Marshall went over the geometry of kaleidoscopes as well as supplying all the materials and teaching us the working details..  It was so informative and so fun.  At the end of class we all had created a beautiful one-of-a-kind acrylic kaleidoscope with moveable base that can be released to change out our beads and other trinkets as desired.

We were all bedazzled!
