Home    Rafting on the French Broad River!

22July2017 – Last week a group of 15 Creston friends got together for a full day of white water rafting on the French Broad river.  We had such a fun, energetic, wet time!  We went with the Blue Heron White Water Rafting company and they were excellent.  Chances to jump off “Jumping Rock” and float down the straights added to our enjoyment.

This whitewater rafting trip starts at Barnard North Carolina and finishes approximately 8 miles downstream in Hot Springs North Carolina.  This is a chance to spend a big part of the day on the river. There is a stop for a deli / picnic style lunch, served riverside.

The next section includes some very beautiful scenery through a stretch of Pisgah National Forest and the spectacular class IV rapid, Frank Bell’s. Rafting time on the river for the full day trip can range from 3-5 hours depending on the size of the trip and the river level.

Summer in the WNC Mountains – you can’t beat it!
